Good questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything parents usually want to know before booking — especially about safety for babies and during pregnancy.

Getting started

How can I check that a chiropractor really holds the certifications they claim?

Ask which body issued the certification and in what year, then look it up. The ICPA maintains a public directory of Webster-certified doctors at icpa4kids.com. Every credential held at this practice is published with its issuer and year on the about page precisely so it can be checked.

What does an adjustment actually feel like?

For adults, usually a brief pressure and sometimes an audible release, followed by a sense of things moving more freely. For babies and children, it is light sustained contact — most parents are surprised by how little there is to see. Nothing is done without explaining it first.

What happens at my first visit?

Your first visit is a conversation before it is anything else — your health history, what brought you in, and what you are hoping to get back to. That is followed by a physical and nervous system evaluation, and in most cases your first adjustment on the same day.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No. In Texas you can see a chiropractor directly, with no referral from a physician or midwife. If you are working with a birth team or pediatrician, care is easily coordinated alongside them. You can book online or call the office.

What should I wear and bring?

Wear whatever you can move comfortably in — there is no need to change. Bring any relevant imaging or reports if you have them, and for infants, come ready to share the birth story, feeding and sleep patterns, since that history usually explains what the body is doing.

Pregnancy

Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons families come here. Dr. Morgan is Webster-certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and prenatal visits use pregnancy-specific tables and techniques so you stay comfortable throughout. No pressure is ever placed on your belly.

What is the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment of the sacrum and pelvis, developed for pregnancy. It reduces tension in the pelvis and the ligaments supporting the uterus so the pelvis sits in balance. It is gentle, non-invasive, and works on the mother's alignment — not on the baby directly.

Does the Webster Technique turn a breech baby?

No, and any chiropractor telling you otherwise is overstating it. The technique works on the mother's pelvis and the ligaments supporting the uterus — nothing is done to the baby. Balancing the pelvis removes biomechanical restriction, which gives a baby more room to find its own position. If your baby is breech, speak to your OB or midwife first.

What does it mean for a chiropractor to be Webster certified?

It is a post-graduate certification from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, separate from the chiropractic degree. The doctor completes ICPA coursework in the technique and in perinatal care, is assessed on it, and is then listed in the ICPA's public directory. Dr. Morgan earned hers in 2025.

When should I start prenatal chiropractic care?

Any point in your pregnancy is a fine place to start. Many mothers begin in the first trimester and continue through delivery, because staying ahead of discomfort is easier than catching up with it. If you are already in your third trimester, care can still make a real difference.

Babies & children

Is chiropractic care safe for my newborn or baby?

Yes. Care for an infant is completely different from an adult adjustment — there is no twisting, no popping and no sudden movement. The pressure used is roughly what you would apply to your own closed eyelid, or to test whether a tomato is ripe. Most babies sleep or feed straight through it.

How early can a child begin chiropractic care?

Days old. Birth is physically demanding for a baby even when everything goes smoothly, and early gentle care helps release the tension that can follow. Starting early also means a growing body has less chance to build compensation patterns around a restriction.

What can pediatric chiropractic care help with?

Families most often come in for latching or feeding difficulty, a strong head-turning preference, colic and reflux, unsettled sleep, recurrent ear infections, constipation, and support through crawling, walking and other motor milestones. Care supports the nervous system so the body can regulate and develop as it is designed to.

Is there an actual certification for pediatric chiropractic care?

Yes — several, and none of them are included in the chiropractic degree itself. Prenatal and pediatric training is post-graduate and optional, which is why it is the most useful thing to ask about. Dr. Morgan was certified in Pediatric and Family Chiropractic Care through The Pediatric Experience in 2026, in addition to her ICPA credentials.

Visits & cost

Can I bring my baby or children to my appointment?

Always. This is a family practice and children are genuinely welcome — most postpartum visits here happen with a newborn in the room, and often on the table too. You do not need to arrange childcare to get adjusted.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on what brought you in, how long it has been going on and what you want to achieve — which is why no plan is quoted before an evaluation. You will always be told what is recommended and why, and the decision about how far to go is yours.

Do you accept insurance, HSA or FSA?

Please contact the office to discuss current payment and insurance options, including HSA and FSA eligibility. Costs and coverage are always explained in full before care begins — there are no surprises at the desk.

How long does chiropractic care take to work?

Some people notice a change after the first visit; for others it is a gradual shift across several weeks. Longstanding problems generally take longer than recent ones. Progress is reviewed as you go, so you are never guessing whether it is working.
